Who Am I

About The Author

Currently a student in Degree of Computer Science, I have delved in the interest of anime ever since 2002. One of the first series that I attest to have an interest in with was Slam Dunk. I was attracted by its artistry and gripping storyline. Since then, I’ve been watching series after series on satellite TV, but it wasn’t until I gained access to the Internet when I discovered that there was more series on offer with a wide diversity of genres.

However, blogging didn’t really start until late 2006 with a personal blog called “Keep Your Hands On The Wheel And Your Foot On The Gas”. It was just a place for me to storytell life experiences and such. Then, a certain blogger gave me the idea to start a blog where one can share his interest to the world. Hence, the blog “Blog Of Utter Randomness” was born. A simple blogsite where I just share my opinions on the anime world as well as figure news and collections.

Four months later, I shifted to my own domain here and started to build my own site. In late July 2008, “Otakuism, Everyday!” was launched. It was a success on my part and I started making contacts with many anibloggers out there. However, the whole project went downhill after just 2 ½ months.

For some, real life issues prove to be a hindrance and I discovered that it’s no different for me. Yet, the desire to continue blogging was still there, and in January 2009, version 2 of “Otakuism, Everyday!” was relaunched. On this occasion, I changed my approach in writing and providing content to my visitors. I also started to participate in many of my visitors’ blogs in order to create a connection with them. But the whole idea was scraped yet again a month later.

I went on a 5 month hiatus in order to rethink on my writing concepts. While doing so, I made more friends who were anibloggers themselves. Version 3 of “Otakuism, Everyday!” was relaunched yet again by early August. This time, I changed my approach to be more of an everyday writer. I was writing reviews on airing series everyday as well as sharing divided opinions with my visitors.

Then, exhaustion settled in. I found out that I was blogging more and spending less time outdoors. Furthermore, by the time I’ve written 20-odd posts in the space of a month, I felt that there was nothing left to write. After 1½ months (yeah, you guessed it), I went on another hiatus.

Some may say that I’m not cut out for blogging or that I’ve no motivation to continue what I started. But I believe it two things that Gargron and Panther mentioned:

  1. write what you like to write, and
  2. write when you want to write.

That’s why I’m always impressed with the way Panther portrays his emotions on the articles on his blog (quality content) as well as the frequency of Gargron’s articles (takes his time and produce commendable content).

So, I embarked yet again on another mission to blog but under a new name: 2 Cents On A Platter. On this occasion, I would be serving a more diverse area of interests and more topics that all of you can discuss on.

About The Site

2 Cents On A Platter” is a blogsite where the author writes on his interests: anime, Photoshop vectoring and photography. The way the author portrays his opinions allows anibloggers and anime fans to come together for friendly discussions. Thus, the author himself always enjoy a good, constructive discussion or debate on various matters.

Why the name “2 Cents On A Platter”? The term “2 cents” is a general term to describe one’s opinion on a certain matter. To serve something “on a platter” is to deliver. Hence, the collective idea of the blogsite is simplified as “a deliverance of one’s opinion on a certain topic”.

This blogsite would contain writings on anime series, manga series and a showcase of the author’s work in both Photoshop vectoring as well as photography. On the odd occasion, the author may touch on random topics such as computing, food, culture or lifestyle, or even about himself!
